Russia
Helium
Annually, Russia recovers 9 million cubic kilometers of helium, compared to the USA's 77m, Algeria's 23m and Qatar's 13m. It is predicted that by 2030 Russia will be producing 35-40% of the world helium production.
Lithium
Russia has deposits of spodumene (the most important of the lithium ores) LiAlSi2O6.
Carbon (Diamond)
Botswana contains commercially viable diamond deposits. In 2005, Russia produced almost 20% of the global diamond output, around 38 million carats. It is estimated that DRC has reserves of around 65 million carats.
Aluminium
In 2005 Russia was the second largest producer of aluminium, with China coming first.
Silicon
Russia produced 520000 tons of silicon in 2006. World production of silicon in 2006 was 5.1 million tons.
Sulfur
In 2006, Russia produced 7 million tonnes of sulfur. Total world production was 65.7 million tonnes.
Calcium
In 2006, Russia produced approx. 210000 tonnes of fluorspar (CaF2). World production was around 5.5 million tonnes.
Romania's production of gypsum (CaSO4.2H2O) in 2006 was approx. 2.2 million tonnes. World production of gypsum in 2006 was 142.5 millions tonnes.
Scandium
The apatite mines on the Kola peninsula, Russia, were one of three mines producing scandium oxide in 2003, the other two were the uranium and iron mines in Zhovti Vody in Ukraine and the rare earth mines in Bayan Obo, >China.
Several uranium deposits in Russia contain scandium, but as of 2003 scandium was not being extracted from the ore residues.
Vanadium
In 2006, Russia produced approx. 24000 tonnes, making it the world's largest producer, with 38% of the world total.

Cobalt

Nickel
Russia's mine production of nickel in 2006 was 300 thousand tonnes, the largest single producer. Worldwide mine production of nickel in 2006 was 1.526 million tonnes.
Russia's combined smelter/refinery production of nickel in 2006 was 272400 tonnes. Worldwide smelter/refinery production of nickel in 2006 was 1.337 million tonnes.
Russia contains about 40% of the world's known resources at the massive Norilsk deposit in Siberia.
Copper
In 2006, Russia's production of copper by mining was 675 thousand tonnes, total world production was 15.1 million tonnes.

Arsenic

In 2006, Russia was the world's largest producer of platinum by mining, with 98.4 tonnes.

The Dukat mine in Russia is one of the top silver-producing mines in the world.

Tin

Iodine

Antimony
In 2005 Russia was the fifth biggest producer of antimony, with around 2% (3000 tonnes) of the world total.
Barium
In 2006, Russia produced 63000 tonnes of barytes (BaSO4), the main source of barium. World production of barytes in 2006 was 8.8 million tonnes.
Tungsten
In 2006, Russia produced approx. 4500 tonnes of tungsten, in the form of wolframite ((Fe,Mn)WO4) and scheelite (CaWO4). Total world production of tungsten in 2006 was 74400 tonnes.
Rhenium
It was only as recently as 1994 that the first rhenium mineral, named rheniite, was found and described. It's a rhenium sulfide mineral (ReS2) condensing from a fumarole on Russia's Kudriavy volcano, in the Kurile Islands. This rare mineral commands high prices among collectors, but is not an economically viable source of the element.
Osmium
The large copper-nickel deposits near Norilsk are a significant source of osmium.

Platinum
In 2006, Russia's was the second largest producer of platinum by mining, with 29.1 tonnes.
Gold
In 2006, Russia's mine production of gold was approx. 159.34 tonnes. Total amount of gold mined in 2006 was 2310 tonnes.
Mercury
In 2006 it's estimated that Russia produced 50000 tonnes, around 3.5% of the world total.
